Soprano saxophonist Jane Ira Bloom, bassist Mark Helias and drummer Matt Wilson return to the Soapbox Gallery to create trios discovered in the moment in a way that is rarely heard today. Whether performing Bloom’s compositions or improvs in the moment, these long-time bandmates find new ways to navigate the spaceways. Bloom has four remotely recorded digital albums and a Grammy nomination for best immersive audio (Picturing the Invisible). Spring 2025 has brought the possibility of returning to live performance and Soapbox Gallery has offered the perfect acoustic setting for her trio. It’s a special, one time concert event.
